Working in the Machine Shop at Columbia, I get to put my hands on whatever is being thrown away! I got lucky this time with a very old grinder that has a simple universal brushed motor design. I'm planning to run experiment on this motor, and match my findings to existing data. My overarching goal is to understand it enough that I can rewire it and adjust its properties to my liking!
